A Frosty Week of Horses, Marmalade & London Adventures

This week has been a flurry of activity with the icy weather keeping us on our toes! I’ve bundled up in layers to tackle the beautifully crisp yet bitterly cold mornings, muck out stables, and get the horses settled before diving into busy days.

I started my first batch of marmalade for the year— there really is nothing better than being by the AGA on cold days! Simon’s week has been equally eventful, as he won the Secretaries Cup real tennis tournament—such a proud moment.

I drove up to London for a talk by the brilliant Lucinda Miller. It was wonderful to meet her in person and hear her discuss her book and the importance of nourishing our brains and bodies, especially for those who are neurodivergent. The evening wrapped up with lovely chats and a few fab sale finds - do go check them out if you get a chance!

I also share a little update about Colin. Colin has been a huge part of my life, helping me regain my confidence after some difficult riding accidents. He’s been the kindest, most patient horse, and it’s been a joy having him here. Lydia, who has been dreaming of her first horse, seems like the perfect match after a huge amount of thought and discussion together and as a family over the past few months. Colin will go to her on a month’s trial to ensure it’s the right fit for both of them. While it’s bittersweet to see him move on, it enables Colin to continue doing what he loves and deserves.

Lastly, I just want to say a huge thank you to all of you who continue to support and enjoy my content. Whether it’s sharing the day-to-day, cooking up delicious recipes, or reflecting on life’s little moments, it’s such a joy to connect with you here. Reaching over 10,000 YouTube subscribers is a milestone I’m so proud of, and it wouldn’t be possible without your kindness, encouragement, and interaction.

I’m so excited about 2025 and can’t wait to bring you along as I explore new ideas and projects, there’s lots in the pipeline! Thank you again for being here—it truly means the world.

Love, Charlie x
