How To Care for Your Woollens: Repair, Wash, and De-Bobble Like a Pro (Practical Sewing Tips)

This week, I’m focusing on woollens – how to care for, wash, and repair them to keep them in excellent condition. I’ll also demonstrate how to mend small holes in jumpers, including the tools and techniques I use.

You’ll see my best methods for washing woollens, whether by hand or in the machine, with advice on detergents, water temperature, and drying techniques to avoid damage or stretching. I’ll also cover de-bobbling, showing you how to refresh and maintain the appearance of your knitwear with tools I’ve found particularly effective.

Along the way, I share practical advice such as separating laundry by colour, avoiding fabric softeners, and the importance of drying delicate items flat.

If you’ve ever wondered how to care for your woollens and make them last longer, I've packed this week's How To with useful tips and demonstrations to help you along!

Love, Charlie x
